What's new

FreeWorlds has a park. Bloom Park is built round a big stone fountain, with flower beds down every avenue, picnic lawns, a gazebo in the rose garden, swings, a hammock and a campfire under the trees. It is open to everyone and it is always daytime there, whatever the World clock says.

The park is alive, too. Ducks paddle round the pond with their ducklings behind them, koi rise under the lily pads, frogs croak, pigeons strut round the plaza, squirrels dash between the trees and butterflies drift over the flowers. Everybody in the park sees the same animals in the same places, so if you spot a duckling, your friends can see it too.

Step by step

What to do there

  1. Go to the parkOpen Spaces on the dock, pick the Official tab, find Bloom Park and press Go there. You arrive just inside the gates, looking up the avenue to the fountain.
  2. Feed the ducksSit on the bench at the end of the pier, or on one of the stone benches by the pond, and press Feed the ducks. A handful of bread costs 1 gold. The ducks, the ducklings and the koi all come over for it.

  3. Feed the pigeonsSit on a bench with open ground in front of it and press Feed the pigeons. Most of the plaza's flock comes over, and a few more fly in from outside the park.
  4. Go for a swimThe ring of water round the fountain is a pool. Walk in from the plaza on any side and you start swimming. You move at half speed in the water.

  5. Take it slowSit on a bench, at a picnic table, on the swing or in the hammock. Only people on their feet scare the animals, so sit still and they carry on round you. Walk up to the pigeons and they take off.

Good to know

  • You can throw a handful every couple of seconds. If the ducks are still eating, wait a moment.
  • The park's sounds are kept soft, so they never drown out a conversation.
  • The Treasure Workshop stands on the entrance avenue. Its keeper, Wren, turns what you dig up into rares.
