Hug your friends, or give them a slap

A hug with hearts all round, or a slap that leaves them seeing stars. Two new things for VIP members, 500 gold each.

What's new

Sometimes a wave is not enough. The Hug and the Slap are two new things VIP members can do to whoever is standing next to them, and everyone in the room sees it happen.

A hug is a proper one: you both step in, a teddy bear sign goes up and hearts float up round the two of you, then you let go and step back. A slap is quicker. Their head whips round, there is a crack, and they are left with a ring of stars spinning round their head.

Neither one hurts anybody's stats, and no shield stops them. They are just for fun.

Step by step

How it works

Get them from the ShopThe Hug and the Slap are in the Shop under New In, 500 gold each. You buy one once and keep it for good: using it costs nothing more.
Stand next to themWalk up until you are right beside the person. If they are too far away, World tells you to stand next to them.
Use itOpen your Inventory, choose the Hug or the Slap and press Hug or Slap, or press it on your action bar. Your pointer turns into a crosshair: click them.

A slap, as the whole room sees it.
Watch it playA hug lasts a few seconds and ends early if either of you walks off. A slap is over in a moment. The other person gets a line telling them who hugged or slapped them.

Good to know

You need to be VIP to use them. The Shop sells them to anyone, but warns you first if you are not VIP yet.
You cannot hug or slap somebody who has blocked you, or whom you have blocked.
If you are sitting down when you use one, you stand up first. Hug somebody who is sitting and you come all the way over to them.
