The Shop, Gold and Tokens in FreeWorlds

Gold and tokens

World has two currencies, and the Shop prices things in one or the other (some in either). Your balance of each is at the top right of the screen.

No real money: nothing in FreeWorlds costs real money right now. The Store shows gold packs and VIP plans, but they aren't on sale, and gold and VIP can never be exchanged back for money.

Daily Gold

Open Get Gold on the dock and press Collect once a day. Come back on consecutive days and it grows: 100 gold on day one, then 200, 300, 400, and 500 from day 5 on. Miss a day and the streak starts again at day one. Days run on UTC.

The Daily Gold card in FreeWorlds: days one to five paying 100 to 500 gold, a streak bar and a Collect 100 gold button
Daily Gold: come back day after day and it grows.

Buying from the Shop

Open Shop on the dock. Its shelves run down the left: New In, Home, Garden, Clothes, Accessories, Dress Up and Fun, each with shelves of its own (Clothes has Tops, Jackets & Coats, Dresses, Shoes and more; Home has Seating, Tables, Beds, Kitchen, Lights, Rugs & Floors and more). Search looks in names and descriptions.

  1. Pick an item. Clothes and wearables are shown on your avatar straight away.
  2. Check the Requires line: some things ask for a level before you can buy or use them.
  3. Choose how many (1 to 99) and whether to pay in gold or tokens, where it offers both.
  4. Press Buy. It goes to your Inventory.

For clothes, Add to outfit collects several pieces; the Outfit button above the list shows them together, and Buy & wear outfit buys the lot and puts it on. A limited item says how many days are left on its row.

What you can do with what you own

Everything you buy or are given is in your Inventory. Pick a thing to wear it, place it, or use one of the links on its card:

  • Gift sends it to a friend, wrapped if you like, with a message. Item gifts go to friends only.
  • Refund gives you back half of what you paid. Something you were given refunds nothing.
  • Lock keeps it safe: a locked item can't be gifted, refunded, sold or destroyed by accident.
  • Destroy gets rid of it for good.

Some things are bound to you, marked with a small b: the furniture your Beginner House came with, and the starter boombox. They can't be gifted, refunded or sold, only destroyed.

Selling to other members

The way to sell to other people is a shop stand in your own space: click a piece you've placed, choose EDIT, then SELL, tick For sale and set a price in gold. Visitors see a BUY button on it. Bound items can't be put up for sale.

New accounts: Gold, tokens and items can be sent to other members once you have played for 6 hours (time spent playing, not time away), on 3 different days and your account is 3 days old. In your first 30 days you can only send what you earned yourself: the bonus is yours to spend in the Shop. The same goes for putting things up for sale and buying from other members' stands. Buying from the Shop and receiving gifts work from the start.

Treasure

With a Metal Detector and a Treasure Shovel from the Shop, you can hunt for buried finds at FreeWorlds' venues and in other members' open spaces. Hold the detector and its signal grows from A faint signal to Dig here!; then dig. Finds move every 20 minutes, and you can sell them to MatchFlow for gold or craft them into rarer things.

Spin To Win

The Shop's Spin To Win wheels cost gold or tokens a spin and pay prizes of gold and tokens. On average a spin pays back less than it costs, so treat it as fun, not as a way to earn.

More

Putting on what you buy is in the avatar guide, and placing it in the decorating guide. For the whole wardrobe at a glance, see avatars in FreeWorlds.
